HDR Bracket Merging

HDR Bracket Merging combines several differently exposed photos of the same scene — one for dark interiors, one for bright windows, and so on — into a single balanced image that keeps detail in both shadows and highlights.

When it runs

Merging is triggered when you upload a bracketed set for a scene (more than one exposure of the same shot). Those frames are merged into one hero image before preprocessing and Image Quality steps such as Auto-Boost.

Single photos skip merging and go straight into the normal pipeline.

What you get

  • One finished frame per scene with detail preserved in both bright and dark areas
  • Especially useful for interiors with bright windows and darker corners in the same frame
  • The merged image then receives the same preprocessing and Image Quality treatment as any other upload

Distinct from Window Pull

HDR Bracket Merging is about combining multiple exposures into one balanced photo.

Window Pull is a separate capability focused on revealing the view through windows. Do not confuse the two — choosing HDR Bracket Merging does not by itself mean Window Pull has run, and vice versa.

Tips for better brackets

  • Keep the camera still between frames (a tripod helps); large shifts between exposures can cause soft edges after merge.
  • Upload the full bracket for each scene together so the system can group and merge them correctly.
  • Mix bracketed scenes and single shots in the same order when you need both.
  • Auto-Boost — automatic colour grade applied after preprocessing
